Chocolate for Great Grammy

I am wholly and completely saddened by the loss of my husbands family matriarch. “Great Grammy”, is what we have been calling her since my daughter was born, left this earth to be with God in heaven. There is so much about Great Grammy that I love, so much that inspires me. Like how she lit up like the sun when my Munchkin was around. But being this is a food and travel blog, that is what I want to share with you.
I had only known “Great Grammy” her for 15 of her 90+ years but she had a passion for baking unlike any I had seen before her. Secret family recipes that she had passed on to her children that we enjoyed at every family gathering. Hours spent making bread from scratch, cakes and cookies. Most of these treats were shared with friends and family. She was charitable with her baking passion, creating baked good to be sold for good causes.
More than anything else in the kitchen “Great Grammy” had a passion for chocolate unlike anything you had ever heard of. Always watching her girlish figure she was sure to portion out dinner to save room for a chocolate dessert. Priorities.
In honor of this truly GREAT Grammy that was loved by everyone who knew her and even those who didn’t know her, I would like to share our tribute to her most famous dessert, her Chocolate Crazy Cake. My version is called the Chocolate Insanity Cake. She would be thrilled.
With love from our family to yours. ❤ ❤ ❤
