Bacon Double Cheeseburger Pull Apart Bread all begins with a loaf of sourdough bread loaded with perfectly seasoned beef. It is bursting with bacon and ooey gooey cheese. A simple recipe that you are sure to make again and again.
After so many emails begging for more comfort food, we decided to create another pull apart bread that is perfect for game day, a rainy day or a weekday. Either way, it is the perfect meal to get you through the rain and snow that is chilling you all up north.
I have mentioned that I am a carbivore, right? I think I could happily sustain myself on comfort food carbs. I love bread, like so much that I wish I could eat it all day, every day. But, the responsible part of me is always screaming “you need protein with that bread”. So, there you go Bacon Double Cheeseburger. There is protein for you! Serve it with a salad and you can just about hush those voices completely.

What you will need to make Bacon Double Cheeseburger Pull Apart Bread:
- A large skillet with a lid – To help the pasta cook evenly, a wide skillet works best, ideally one that’s more than 12 inches in diameter.
- Bread Knife– I love a good bread knife. It is one of my essential knives. This one, I have been using for a decade! I also love to slice tomatoes with it.
Enjoy!
With love from our simple kitchen to yours.

Bacon Double Cheeseburger Pull Apart Bread
Ingredients
- 1 loaf sourdough bread
- 16 ounces crisp cooked bacon, diced
- 1 pound 93% lean ground beef
- 1/2 teaspoon fresh ground black pepper
- 1 teaspoon red chile paste, I used Gourmet Garden
- 1 teaspoon garlic paste, I used Gourmet Garden
- 1 tablespoon spicy Montreal Steak Seasoning
- 8 ounces shredded cheddar cheese
- 8 ounces shredded white cheddar
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 350°F. Prepare 2 sheets of aluminum foil to wrap bread in, overlap the foil so the bread will be completely covered.
- In a medium skillet, over medium-high heat combine beef, pepper, chile, garlic and steak seasoning. Cook until browned. The fat should have absorbed, but if not drain on paper towels.
- On a cutting board, slice bread in 3/4-inch intervals, being careful to not cut all the way through. Cut again, crosswise, not cutting all the way through.
- Slide bread onto foil and stuff half of cheese between all cuts, then stuff beef between cuts. Sprinkle loaf with remaining cheese and bacon.
- Wrap foil around bread snuggly and bake for 35-45 minutes (until cheese inside starts to melt; uncover and bake 15 minutes more or until cheese is bubbly. Serve hot.
- Enjoy!

This looks amazing….just a question. Where am I missing the part about mixing butter and ranch dressing?
Whoops! That was in an old version of the recipe. I updated the recipe. Thank you and enjoy!
That's insane!! Wow, where IS my fork?
Anytime Gerry. Pop on over. : )
Do I still use the 1/2 cup melted butter stated in the ingredient list? Love your recipes, I have made several and always get the "thumbs up" love the cocktails too!
Disregard the butter. It was in there accidentally. I have updated the recipe. Thanks and enjoy!
Bacon Double Cheeseburger Pull Apart Bread, it doesn't say what to do with the butter – pour it over finished bread maybe???
Disregard the butter. It was in there accidentally. I have updated the recipe. Thanks and enjoy!
I also don't see where to use the 1/2 c. melted butter in the instructions… and I have a suggestion. If you add the spices as the beef cooks, then drain the beef, you're losing a lot of the kick from the spice. I would think it might be better to nearly brown the beef (rendering most of the fat), drain it, then put it back in the pan with the spices for a few minutes.

Where does the butter come in?

It is in the oven right now.. I can't wait! Added some mushrooms.
While I prefer fresh herbs, I love the convenience of Garden Gourmet and they are 10 x better than dried herbs. I always keep a tube of the basil on hand. I need to do the same with cilantro.
Yum yum yum yum yum! That looks AMAZING!
The recipe says use half the cheese to put into the cracks, but never tells what to do with the remainder of the cheese.
Thanks for your note. You sprinkle it on top with the bacon. The recipe is correct now. Hope that helps!
Do you have to use sourdough bread or can you use any kind of bread?
You can use an uncut loaf of whatever you like. Italian or French bread would work great too. Enjoy!
What do you do with the beef mixture and the bacon do you stuff it with the cheese?
If you scroll down the page you can find the recipe under the last large image.
"Slide bread onto foil and stuff half of cheese between all cuts, then stuff beef between cuts. Sprinkle loaf with remaining cheese and bacon. "
Hope that helps! Enjoy.
Looks so good…
How do you serve it? Do you cut it apart when serving? Looks to hard and messy to pull apart,
Thanks
Actually, you serve it hot and just pull the bread apart. We sometimes put plates next to the bread if we stuff it too full. LOL
Just a quick note: to avoid cutting through the bread…put two wooden spoons on either side where you are cutting….it will not let you cut all the way thru….You have such awesome recipes..think i will do this for Superbowl Sunday along with other goodies…thanks for all your recipes
Just a note: put two wooden spoons along where you are cutting the bread..the spoons will not allow you to cut all the way thru…Going to make this for Superbowl Sunday along with other goodies…Thanks so much for your recipes
I love that tip, I use wooden spoons when I cut through potatoes to make hasselback potatoes and it would work great on this too!
Good Lord… That picture *drooling*
this looks wonderful – could this be made ahead and kept in the fridge until you are ready to bake it?
The perfect appetizer for the middle of the table. Everyone loves it everytime I make it, great recipe!
