Brush Worcestershire sauce over the tri tip. Then grind the dried onion, pepper flakes, dill seed, mustard seed, and coriander in a spice grinder.
Whisk the spices together with the garlic powder, brown sugar, salt, and pepper, then rub it onto the tri tip and refrigerate.
Place the tri tip directly on the grates and smoke for 1 and ½ to 2 hours. Then cover with foil and let rest for 30 minutes.
